The Friends have been an important part of the festival almost from its inception. Each year there is a Friends’ Festival Launch event earlier in the summer when Lawrence and some of his colleagues present a wonderful concert and Friends get to enjoy sumptuous canapés and getting to know each other and the musicians. There is also a reception for Friends after one of the evening concerts at the Festival and Friends get priority booking for Festival tickets. But the main benefit of being a Friend is the knowledge that the Friends’ support is so important in enabling Lawrence to bring us the amazing musicians and Festival programme each year.
This year’s Friends event is on Sunday 18th May with welcome drinks at 6.30 followed by music including Stravinsky, Mussorgsky, Debussy, Bartok and Vaughan Williams from Lawrence with his son, Gabriel, playing piano. Lawrence will announce his ideas for the festival in September and Friends will have the opportunity to buy Festival passes.

Annual Friends membership is £50 which runs from the end of one Festival to the end of the following year’s.
